It has been the fastest twelve days of my life here in Australia! From navigating large airports, meeting new faces, and learning how to handle the Australian humidity, adjusting to my new life in Brisbane has been a whirlwind. After a relaxing orientation in Cairns, I was excited to be stepping on my final plane to Brisbane. I haven’t been here for even a full week yet, and I know that this city has so much to offer.

Brisbane is already becoming one of my favorite cities. It is young, hip, and filled with ambitious lifestyles, and there are many sights to see that are just a walk away! The Brisbane Botanical Gardens, a river-long bridge you can walk across, and too many restaurants to count are just some of the amazing aspects of the city. Exploring the city and South Brisbane has been my favorite part of my trip so far–walking around and observing every aspect of this city has made me so appreciative of my new home.

This upcoming Monday is when I start school! I have been to my campus–The University Of Queensland–a couple times already for orientation and it is very different from Hope, but it has been really exciting to learn a new campus. I am looking forward to meeting new classmates and getting a routine underway. This experience so far has been filled with many new culture shocks, homesickness, and adventure; yet, I could not be more grateful to be here and embracing every peak and valley of my time in Australia so far and I cannot wait to experience more.
Cheers!
